why doesn’t barack obama support nuclear energy?

or clean coal for that matter?

Because part of his political support comes from the extreme wing of the environmental movement and if he lets them down they won’t contribute money or votes. He’s just politics as usual. He’s sacrificing US energy independence to pander to a special interest.
