Making A Magnetic Generator

making a magnetic generator
magnetic coil generator?!?!?help?!?!?

ok, so my science project question is: How can magnets and coils of wire be used to make electricity?
i cant really find any websites on this.
so if anyone knows what materials i would need and what i do for it to work. also if you have a good website you can write it as an answer.
any good research site would be good

Make a coil by winding several turns of thin insulated wire.
Using a rather strong magnet, move the coil rapidly in front of one of the magnets poles.
If you can get a voltmeter, you cam measure the voltage induced in the coil, connecting it to each end of the wire.
If you cannot get a voltmeter, try a small bulb from a flashlight (single AAA battery flashlight). You should see it to glow faintly provided you have lots of turns on your coil. Try with a few and increase it if necessary.
If this is hard for you to do, go to a bicycle store and buy a used dynamo. Try to disassemble it to see how it’s made.
Try this site and search for Dynamo or DC generator:

http://www.howstuffworks.com/

Here you can buy a Dynamo for $14.95:

it’s a good site where you can buy or get ideas for many science projects.

Shake Flashlight- No Batteries- Simply Shake to Recharge

$0.01

The Forever Flashlight uses no batteries or bulbs. Instead it uses Faraday’s Principle of Magnetic Induction and a bright LED to produce light without batteries. The flashlight is shaken for about 30 seconds to recharge a capacitor and it will then provide about 5-7 minutes of light. How does this happen? As the flashlight is shaken, a magnet passes through a metal coil which, when you shake, “ind…
